Double Points Night Set For Sept. 10th

Ok, so the races got rained out last time, but you need to make plans right now to be at Five Flags Speedway for DOUBLE POINTS NIGHT! It's always good racing in every division. Morning man Marty White is currently Ninth in the Sportsman Division points race and is driving hard to finish the season in the Top Ten. "Being a second year driver, that wouldn't be bad considering I tore the car up a couple times and missed two races. We could even pick up a spot depending on who shows up to race and how well I manage the race car. I just need to drive smart and finish. Last time out we came in Fifth. We had a Top Five earlier this season but this last race was probably my best effort all year. I felt like I did drive a little smarter. Greg Janes and Shanna Ard gave me a great handling hotrod with a motor that responded strong anytime I asked for it!"

"These cars can be a handful. When I had to sit out a couple races after the bad wreck in June, I got a chance to watch the better drivers. I went to school. I feel like it really helped to see what they do better from a different perspective and what I needed to work on. I did learn a couple things. I learn something every time I strap in. I truly love driving the 102.7 WXBM Sonny's BBQ car. It's still just too much fun! I tell everybody I am the luckiest man I know to get to do this. Greg and Shanna will have the car ready, I will be ready and all we need is a bunch of fans in the stands pulling for that MW Racing Team. For more information go to fiveflagsspeedway.com  I can't say enough about our sponsors this year. They really make it happen and I appreciate each of them a great deal. Go by and see them when you can and tell them you appreciate them supporting local racing."

Marty White

Email: marty@wxbm.com

Hi, my name is Marty White, one half of the Gulf Coast's #1 Morning Show since 1993.

I was born and raised in Pensacola, barely graduated from Tate High School, did my time as a spy in the USAF and have been on the air for over 35 years.

I am married to the love of my life who gave me my hero, my son. When those two don’t have me tied up, you will find me on a golf course, somewhere in the woods or at the race shop. I like things you do outside. I used to think golf was the most fun I ever had ‘till I started huntin’ deer, then I got behind the wheel of a race car and I can tell you, it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. Its just TOO MUCH FUN!

I’m a Gator Fan, still love old war movies, Gunsmoke and Marilyn Monroe, but then, who doesn't. Just like most morning guys, I'm a pack rat with an office that is dangerous to walk into...and unlike most morning guys, there is no coffee needed...Mountain Dew provides the kick. Offer me a Slim Jim, a can of Vienna’s or a cold hot dog on white bread and I'll be happy, but you'll never be able to top my wife's fried chicken and black eyed peas.

When I'm listening to music its probably a song by George...Strait or Jones. My favorite songs are "The Chair" by George Strait, ”Bed of Roses” by George Jones, “That Was Us” by Randy Travis and “"16 Little Red Roses and a Horse That Sweats" by Jim Stafford. All are perfect for my patented “Old Man Dance”.

My long-range goal is free golf, a big rack on the wall and checkered flags in my windshield and no job! It would also be nice if my partner, Linda Lawrence, would be easier to get along with every once in a while. Once would be nice. Any help toward those goals will be appreciated. E-mail me ...
